The title says it all. I'm looking for a good Soul Reaper/Reaver (Whichever you prefer) type class. I'm thinking Dervish and Mesmer might be a good build, since Mesmers can dominate pretty well, (If you use them right) but alot of people have recommended Necro for the secondary class. Thoughts? Tips on what skills I should use?

The Dervish's strength is in mysticism (reduced Dervish enchant spell costs). I don't think the Dervish has a large enough energy pool to effieciently support Shutdown tactics of a Mesmer. With a necro, you can pass conditions and steal life, but I have no experience in that department.

Do you mean the profession with the best energy management? Illusion Mesmer with Arcane conundrum can spam all day if you use it right.

Best energy management, but not alot of damage; the OP mentioned domination being favourable... I assume they're looking for raw damage.

Although, an ER ele can maintain Great Dwarf Weapon on 3-4 allies at a time constantly. That's... Alot of damage if they have IAS (and locust's fury

No offence, but are you even talking about GW? When you use game lingo (or attempt to) I can at least understand what your asking us, but when you just make up GW terms like Reaver or Soul Reaper without explaining what they mean well....it limits the discussion.

If your asking for a recommended secondary for the Dervish, the short of it is, you honestly don't need one (you can go /W for Save Yourselves! which is helpful in PvE) the Dervish skills are pretty strong by themselves after the update.

If you want to use Domination Magic, roll a mesmer, they can use the skills more often with Fast Casting, and cast them more effectively with Domination Runes.
